Trek to Everest Basecamp!
Join The Northwest Passage's Rick Sweitzer and family on this world class trek into Everest Base Camp. This is a trip of a lifetime with a uniquely crafted itinerary that is sure to amaze. Our trek starts in Lukla via Kathmandu and ending with two nights at Everest Base Camp. This journey through the Khumbu region will stoke all your high altitude ambitions. Finish off with a helicopter transfer back to Kathmandu, followed by a celebratory dinner. This is a Northwest Passage/PolarExplorers special, not to be missed.

This lodge-based trek will have you following in the tracks of mountaineers who attempt to summit the challenging peak from the Nepalese side. You will pass through Sherpa country, past cultivated fields and small villages with plenty of opportunities to experience the local culture and lifestyle. Our trail follows the Dudh Kosi before an invigorating climb up to Namche Bazaar, one of the main stops on the trail to the Everest Base camp. Views from the Bazaar are spectacular with its tin-topped houses and spectacular mountains towering above the tree line. The monastery at Tengboche, is yet another highlight of the trek, that stands picturesque atop a hill against the backdrop of Ama Dablam, Everest and other snowcapped peaks. With acclimatization completed in route, you will be able to trek to the Everest Base Camp on the Khumbu glacier and can opt to climb Kala Pattar (5545m) for a breathtaking view of Everest and stand amongst the greatest mountain panorama on the planet.
